LAUGH WITH OCD
      ABOUT L.A.U.G.H

OCD is no laughing matter. It is a very serious
disorder, but everyone needs to laugh.
Do you know that two things OCD hates is a sense
of humor and being laughed at? What a better way
to fight OCD then to L.A.U.G.H.?

I have started L.A.U.G.H.a non-profit support group in
Lancaster County, PA to help others.  This support group is for individuals with OCD, their family and friends

L.A.U.G.H. is an acronym which stands for Learn to Accept Uncertainty and Gain Hope

When I first decided on L.A.U.G.H as the support group's name, I was a little unsure. I questioned myself and asked God for guidance. Later that day, while buying a rock for my grandson, this stone with the word "Laugh" fell off the shelf. That was the sign that I needed. I never doubted my idea again.   I use that stone in the pictures on this web site.

I love to laugh. Laughing is my best medicine. It is a great stress reducer. Laughing has always been a big part of my life. It has helped me get through a lot of scary stressful times. It was a way I hid my OCD and all the fears in my life.  I would laugh when I was under stress, anxiety, scared, nervous, etc. It was my coping mechanism. It became my best friend. I love to make others laugh too. You never know what someone is truly feeling on the inside, they could be hiding something like I was. I always knew that my purpose was to make people laugh because God gave me such a good sense of humor. God also gave me a very caring heart and with both I am going help those with OCD to L.A.U.G.H again in more ways then one.

One of the biggest problems people with OCD have is living with uncertainty;  if we learn to accept uncertainty, we will gain hope in living a normal life.
Mission Statement:

To teach those with OCD to L.A.U.G.H. with it  and those who don't;  to understand it.
